After studying at Loughborough University, Lewis joined Network Rail as a graduate in 2009 before finishing his 13-year ‘accidental’ career in the railway industry in 2022 as the Operational Readiness Manager for Crossrail (the Elizabeth line). Having always had a passion for plants he studied his RHS Level 2 qualification and started volunteering in horticulture in 2019, making the decision to follow his passion and change career in late 2022 when he began working for the RHS. Lewis is currently their acting Horticultural Engagement Manager, leading the RHS New Shoots career initiative.
